Buildings in Cambridge

GaltPrestonHespeler

Buildings in Galt, Preston and Hespeler span several generations of elevator technology — relay controls in older towers, early microprocessor systems from the 1990s and newer machine-room-less units. Our work starts by identifying which generation you have, because that decides what can be repaired and what should be replaced.

We also review existing maintenance contracts so the new equipment is looked after properly once it is installed.

Cold winters, road salt and grit wear door sills and tracks, and hydraulic cars slow down in unheated spaces.

FAQ

Cambridge elevator questions

What standards apply to elevator work in Cambridge?

Work follows the elevator safety code (ASME A17.1 / CSA B44) as adopted in Ontario, and devices are licensed and inspected by TSSA.

What does a condition survey include?

Equipment age and type, controller generation, parts availability, inspection history, callback log review and a recommended scope.

What happens after an inspection order in Ontario?

The order lists deficiencies and a deadline. We quote and schedule the corrections so the device stays licensed with TSSA.

Can you plan a 10-year elevator budget for our building?

Yes — a capital plan lists each car, its condition and the recommended timing and cost range of work.

Is there a mandatory periodic safety test for elevators in Ontario?

Yes — elevating devices are subject to periodic inspection and testing requirements under the elevator safety code (ASME A17.1 / CSA B44) as adopted in Ontario, administered by TSSA. We schedule and document required tests.

Compliance

Elevator rules in Canada

Design, installation and maintenance follow the CSA B44 Safety Code for Elevators and Escalators.
Only TSSA-registered contractors with certified mechanics may maintain or alter elevating devices.
